While most bakers and cake artists have the story of baking since childhood, as the Founder of The Frosted Oven and D. Smith Design Studios, Deidra’s journey is different.

The journey to become one of the Mid-South’s most requested cake artists started after a 47-day hospitalization. “The doctors had me pegged for dead and somehow I made it through a rough medical journey to what I’m doing today,” Deidra says when asked about her journey, as she considers her talent a gift from God because she knew nothing about baking or cake artistry.

Under The Frosted Oven, Deidra provides custom cakes for all types of events and occasions providing excellent customer service skills to clients while providing keen attention to detail and a creative eye.

In addition, with the Bougie Bouquet, Deidra provides custom bouquets, cake stands, and accessories for weddings and special events.
